    1. Discuss the history of the classification of periodontal diseases,
    2. Understand the need for an updated classification system for periodontal diseases,
    3. Discuss changes with the new classification system,

    5. Apply staging and grading to a periodontitis diagnosis.

    The course is divided into lesson topics with each topic containing multimedia presentations and learning activites. After completion of all course material, you will receive your CE certification to download/print.

    Once you enroll in the course, you have 1 month to complete the course. 

    What type of computer equipment will I need?

    Any computer with an internet connection will be adequate for this course, but a high speed internet connection for your computer is highly desirable.

    How do I pay for the course?

You can pay immediately using PayPal, a safe and reliable online payment program. You do not need a PayPal account to use your own credit card. However, if you create a PayPal account, you have the option to "Pay Later", which breaks the total fee into multiple payments with no interest.

    What is your refund policy?

    • If you wish to cancel a course within 30 days of enrolling, and you have not completed any lessons, you will receive a full refund (minus 10% processing fee).
    • If you start the course by completing lessons and do not wish to continue, you will receive a 50% refund.

    Jessica McFarlin, CDA, RDH, MHL

    Jessica began her dental career as a dental assistant in Georgia. She fell in love with dentistry and pursued her dental hygiene degree, graduating in 2005 from Georgia Perimeter College. Her clinical career provided her with experience in general, pediatric, and periodontal offices.

    Jessica moved to the Chattanooga area in 2013. She began her career in dental education in 2016, working her way up to an Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene. In 2020 she graduated from Western Governors University with a Master of Health Leadership degree. She loves working with Dent ED Online and helping others further their knowledge and skills in dentistry.

    In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling with her husband and 2 dogs. If she is not working, you can find her on a local hiking trail or driving across the country on an adventure.
